1. GALENA : - (Kwalli in Hausa) Principal ore of lead and zinc, occurs following the bedding of sedimentary rock, as hydrothermal veins and in pegmatite’s and as replacement bodies in limestone and dolomite rocks.

Uses/Application |
Lead and Zinc are important raw materials for the manufacturing of several goods. They are important components of alloys and protective coatings for other metals, lead is used in the manufacture of batteries, electrical cables, lead foils, bearings, solder etc. it is also used as a flux in casting and glass making. Zink is used in the manufacture of alloys plating, dry cells, zinc chemicals and solders. |
